Weigh In Week

Lots of travelling this past month which is never a good equation for me and losing weight.   However, I think I will show a little loss this month when we weigh in on Saturday.  The elbow still is not back to 100% so I have not been able to get back into my p90X2 routine as I cannot do many of the workout routines.   I have been substituting racquetball in place of the P90X2, playing 2-3 times a week.

Regular Push Ups

I am finally able to do regular push ups once again.  That is a relief.  So I am back on my at least 60 push ups a day routine, and will also get back to P90X2 this week.   Another thing I missed is racquetball, so I look forward to some games later this week.

Less than 2 weeks until the next weigh in.

Girl Push Ups

My elbow is still bothering me, and it is frustrating because I have not been able to do my daily routine of at least 60 pushups.   I finally caved today and did some girl push ups (knees on the ground).  Elbow is beginning to feel a little better so hopefully by next week I can get back to regular push ups and P90X2.

On a side note, iPads can be painful.   I dropped my on my foot the other day and the corner hit the top of my foot and left a decent bruise, so walking has been a little painful the last two days.  I think I might hit the pool this weekend for some water aerobics while I mend my body.

P90X2 - Sidelined temporarily

Somehow over the weekend, I injured my upper arm/elbow area.  It could have been the golf, P90X2 workouts or football tossing on this gorgeous weekend.  Whatever the case I will be taking a week off from the P90X2 to rest the arm.   I will not just be laying around though, instead of using my arms, I will use this week to concentrate on legs and ab work.   Plenty of walking, swimming, and ab exercises while my arm gets back to 100%.

P90X2 - Day 10

Started today out with a racquetball match at the Y.

Today’s P90X2 routine is Rest or Recovery/Mobility.  I chose to rest after yesterday’s great workout.

Food for today was a protein bar before racquetball in the morning, a sausage croissant with hashbrowns for breakfast, a protein bar for lunch, a salad for snack, and then some tacos and KFC chicken for dinner.

P90X2 - Day 9

I played some early morning racquetball today. Today's P90X2 routine was Plyocide (death by jumping as Tony calls it). Laura Kessel and some other contestants wanted to give this a try so Jamie at Sim and Fit was nice enough to let us use the studio there for today's workout. Needless to say, there was a lot of sweating going on. In addition to Laura, Desirea and Kate joined me. I am proud of all of them because this is definitely the hardest routine in the week.

Food for today, asiago bread prior to racquetball to fuel my tank, three turkey sausage patties with cheese for breakfast, protein bar for snack, turkey with cheese for lunch, cucumber salad for lunch, and 15 wings from the Wright Place for dinner to protein up after the brutal workout.

This morning, I went for a 5 mile bike ride.  I also did some yard work today.

Food for today  - eggs/sausage and toast at Burgers/Beers and Breakfast during my bike ride, chicken wrap and chips for lunch, the other half of the wrap for snack, protein shake for another snack, and two small chicken parmesan sliders for dinner (no bun)

P90X - Day 6

Played early morning racquetball today and planned on doing the bootcamp class.   However, the class was cancelled, so I went back to the Y and did 4.3 miles on the bike.

Saturday is usually Balance and Power day for P90X2.   However, due to my busy schedule today, I switched Sunday (Rest) for today’s routine.

After the Y, I golfed 18 holes and got to see a lot of friends at the John Carroll football golf outing.

Food for today  - protein bar before racquetball, egg/sausage and toast from Kleifelds in Downtown Willoughby for breakfast, hot dog for lunch, plenty of beers for snack while golfing, cheeseburger and hot dog for dinner (sans the buns), and some popcorn later in the evening for a snack

P90X2 - Day 5

Played early morning racquetball today and my partner actually showed up.   We had a very competitive first game, and I think I wore him out for the next two.  A year or two ago, I would not have last 10 minutes moving around like I did today on the court.

Day 5 of my P90X2 today.  Today’s routine was Yoga X.  I did this after work, and some of the moves are difficult to do all the way, so I modify like Dr. Horton teaches us to do.  You can view a short review of the exercises I performed this evening here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dK7VazkVDHc&feature=fvsr

After Yoga, I went to the driving range and hit 100 balls in preparation for a golf outing tomorrow.

Food for today  - Asiago bread from Great Harvest Bread in Mentor for breakfast, sausage and egg burrito and hashbrowns for snack, salad for lunch, protein shake for snack, and then some beers and wings at the Wright Place after my driving range workout.

Tomorrow is a busy day with racquetball, bootcamp workout and 18 holes of golf.

P90X2 - Day 2

I went to play some racquetball this morning at the Y, however, my partner decided to sleep in and pass on the 6am match.   JEFF

So I decided to work on my serve and backhand for a bit.  In addition, I got in 600 reps of jump rope and 4.38 miles on the bike.

I also needed to get in my P90X2 workout today, so I did it in the evening.  Today’s routine involves Plyometrics (jump training).   Tony calls it Plyocide.  You can view a short review of the exercises I performed this evening here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKf2Nb9ZdN8&feature=relmfu

Food for today – Pepperoni bread from Great Harvest Bread in Mentor once again (a loaf goes along way, should last me through the week) for a quick morning snack before the Y.  After my Y workout, I had some eggs and hashbrowns with toast at Bob Evans on 91 and Ridge Rd (excellent service and they have free wifi so you can get a little work done while you wait).   Protein bar for snack, half of a jalapeno/bacon/cheeseburger with fries for lunch from Brown Bag Burgers (delicious) , and the other half for dinner.
